Small Colombian Mochila Wayuu

48.00

This native shoulder bag is made by the Colombian Wayuu tribe of women in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains. It is spun in crochet and is made out of cotton and wool. On occasions a pompom hangs from it. The women hand weave mochilas as a meditation and way to support their communities in the mountains.

Each purchase of this item will back to the La Sierra Artist Residency in Buritaca, Colombia offering art, environmental and cultural awareness to elementary school children in the area.
